Casmalia - Psychotropic EP

Rock Bottom Records sophomore EP, “Psychotropic" comes at you live and direct from San Diego native, Casmalia. With several releases on SoCal powerhouse Hood Politics Records, she is single-handedly pushing the limits of the tech house game with her passionate, emotive style. We are psyched to have her officially join the Bottomfeeder Records family with such a diverse debut release!

The title track, “Psychotropic" wastes no time gripping you with an immediate and inescapable groove. As the name suggests, the elements build and evolve into a psychedelic aural escapade that will have you transported into a mind-bent psychosis. Casmalia spreads her wings on the follow up track “Taking Flight”. Filled with atmospheric pads, vocal harmonies, and hypnotic arpeggiators, this track is an uplifting emotional joy ride of elation and introspection that truly highlights her range as a producer.

On remix duties, we have the Hood Politics Don, DJ Susan, gracing us with an absolute tech monster flip on the title track. Susan’s reimagined bass line and banging percussion gives this take a whole new life that is smashing up dance floors up and down the coast. Rounding out the EP, Mitch Dodge brings us an otherworldly minimal tech rendition perfect for play in dark rooms. The deep rolling bass line drives the track throughout. Coupled with tripped out vocal pitches and atmospheric substance, the San Diego alien will no doubt abduct you through your speakers.
